As a dispatcher for Troop F in Warren for the past 8 1/2 years, I felt like I knew Dennis fairly well, even though we seldom actually saw each other. Still, on those rare occasions when we'd talk at headquarters, we always found common ground. I shared a love of the outdoors and gardening with Dennis, and he was always teasing me in his gruff, yet playful way. I found his deep sense of humor refreshing, his wit sharp as a razor, and his zest for life encouraging, even when the cloud of cancer hung darkly on the horizon. He always teased me about my beard, even though I told him it "covered a multitude of chins." I'm proud to have known him, enjoyed working with him, and will surely miss him on the radio and in the office. The world was a better place because of him, and I was proud to call him my friend.
