Raymond Paul Laskey

Raymond Paul Laskey, 80, of Hamburg, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.  Mr. Laskey was a native of Chicago, Illinois and a resident of Hamburg since 1961.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having retired in 1979 after 20 years of service.  He was a Funeral Director at Jones Funeral Home and Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home for 26 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He very much loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcrafts.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Winda Fay Hill Laskey in 2002; a son, Phillip Nelson Laskey in 1988; a daughter, Vicki Lee Pennington in 2001; his parents, Phillip and Agnes Juchcuinski Laskowski; a brother, Florian Laskowski and two sisters, Theresa Patsky, and Phyllis Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 11 ½ years, Earlene Summers Morgan Laskey of Hamburg; seven grandchildren, Raigen Lee Smith Coleman and husband, Josh, of Hampton, Christina Danyel Pennington Smith of Crossett, Morgan Gourley and husband, Justin, Chance Wallace and wife, Alyssa, all of Hamburg, Hannah Cypert Morgan and husband, A.J., of Sterlington, Louisiana, Amber Cypert O’Dell and husband, Nate, of Fayetteville and Tyler Spruell of Hamburg; two daughters, Dee Dee Spruell and husband, Kevin, and Tammy Cypert and husband, Steve, all of Hamburg; nine great-grandchildren, Gracie, Blaze, Carlee, Kane, Kaden, Tristan, Eryn, C.J. and Trapper; a brother, Felix (Phil) Laskey and wife, Jane, of Chicago, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Lloyd and wife, Wanda, of Dierks; a sister-in-law, Linda Harville; a niece, Dee Dee Smith and husband, Tim, all of Hamburg; two nephews, Robert Laskey of Chicago, Illinois and Russell Harville of Hamburg and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Comer and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating.  Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park with full military honors.  Pallbearers are Lee Thornhill, Barron Johnson, Willie Cromwell, Davie Holland, Don Davis and Johnnie W. Pierce.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to the First United Methodist Church, 202 Main Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.  

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
