Patricia (Patty) Scroggins

            Patricia "Patty" Scroggins, 52, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Arkansas Hospice Center in Hot Springs.  Ms. Scroggins was a native of Lake Village; a resident of Hot Springs for the past five years and a former resident of Parkdale for most of her life.  She was a farmer and a published Poet, having published three books of poems and short stories.  She was a member of the Parkdale Baptist Church and she was a pet lover and loved her dogs.

            She is preceded in death by her mother, Nora E. Rich Scroggins in 1984; her grandparents, Ike and Flora Booher Scroggins and John and Juanita Rich and a sister-in-law, Kim Scroggins

            She is survived by her father and step-mother, Billy and Betty Scroggins of Hot Springs; two brothers, Billy Gene Scroggins of Crossett and Freddy Scroggins and wife, Christy, of Hamburg; three step-brothers, Tony Hummel  and wife, Patricia, and Jerry Hummel all of Illinois and Paul Hummel and wife, Shelia, of Monticello; a step-sister, Sharon Lee Harrison of Hot Springs and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

            Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Bridges officiating.  Burial will be in the Jennie Cemetery in Chicot County.  Pallbearers are Alex Johnson, Stephen Forrest, Steven Scroggins, David Johnson, David Patrick and Robert McArthur.  Honorary pallbearers are Drew Dickson, Kevin Johnson and Keith Forrest. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas, 220 Mockingbird, Hot Springs, AR 71913.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
