Odis Freeman

Odis Freeman, 69, of Snyder, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at his residence.  Mr. Freeman was a native of Sparta, Tennessee and a resident of Snyder for the past 20 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era.  He worked many jobs but loved being a shrimp boat captain.  He loved God, his family and his country and would help anyone in need when he could.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Allgood in 2010; a grandson, John Allgood in 2007; his parents, Charlie and Beulah Manus Parish and two brothers, Garry and Sam Parish.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Miles Freeman of Snyder; three daughters, Lisa Drost of Snyder, Frances Toole and husband, Andrew, of Mulberry, Florida and Samantha Bonnett and husband, Eric, of Conway; a brother, Charles Parish and wife, Cindy, of Plant City, Florida; four granddaughters, Jenifer, Andrea, Dana and Sarah; six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Connard officiating.  Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Andrew Toole, Bobby Johnson, Randall Johnson, Mike Drost, Mike Henderson, Chris Hammon and Eric Bonnett.  Memorials may be made to the Montrose Cemetery Association, c/o Angie Lynn, 329 Lynn Road, Portland, AR 71663. 

Visitation will be 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday before the funeral service.
