Max Eugene Woods, 85, of Crossett, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mr. Woods was a native and life long resident of Crossett. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he worked for Chase Bag Company for many years, Brown & Root and he was self employed. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Razorback Football fan.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Hagood Woods in 1983; his parents, Buford B. & Sarah Elizabeth Jeffress Woods and a brother, Fred Erston Woods.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Peggy King Woods of Crossett; three sons, Darren Barnett of Crossett, James Ricks and wife, Brenda, of Russellville and Micah Woods and wife, Mary, of Crossett; three daughters, Freda Seago and husband, Darren, and Lisa Ricks all of Columbus, Mississippi and Denise Tourdot and husband, Pete, of Bryant; a brother, Don Woods and wife, Cathy, of Farmerville, Louisiana; a sister, Becky Chamberlain and husband, Richard, of Jasper, Texas; six granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service are 2 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vaughan Blue, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mat Footit, Bill Rawls, Terry Lochala, Darren Seago, Pete Tourdot and Tony Adcock. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
