Louden Frank Huffty, Jr., 61, of Sterlington, Louisiana, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Huffty was a native of Bastrop, Louisiana; a resident of Sterlington for the past four years and a former resident of Bastrop, Louisiana and Wilmot, Arkansas for many years. He owned Huffty Paving Company and he was a Methodist. He played in a Rock-n-Roll band for many years and music and his family were very important to him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louden Frank “Buddy” Huffty, SR in 1986 and a step-son, Tony Dupree.
He is survived by the love of his life, Lisa Huffty; a daughter, Jamie Huffty, both of Sterlington, Louisiana; a step-son, Michael DeVault of Hendersonville, Tennessee; his mother, Mattie Crossley Ladd of Blytheville; two sisters, LuAnn Little of Springdale and Katie Margaret Ladd of Seattle, Washington; a granddaughter, Kailynn Garsee of Sterlington, Louisiana and other relatives and many friends.
A grave side service will be 2 p.m, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the Wilmot Cemetery with Bro, Carlos Pitts officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Tribute Program, In Memory of Tony Dupree, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
