Gary Williamson, 60, of Montrose, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. Mr. Williamson was a native of Lake Village and a life long resident of the Mt. Pleasant Community east of Hamburg. He was a tractor mechanic and shop foreman for Scott Equipment for many years. He was a farmer and he was well known for his bar-be-que. He was a member of the Montrose Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief and he was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Nancy C. Williamson in March of this year, and his parents, Edward & Muriel Royal Williamson.
He is survived by a daughter, Bridget Williams and husband, David; a son, Scotty Williamson all of Crossett; a brother, Johnny Williamson and wife, Nita; a sister, Mary Jo Burns and husband, Booster, all of Parkdale; three grandchildren, Seth, Cloe and Cady Williams and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Garrett and Keith Ladd officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gene Cupit, Jason Cupit, Taylor Spaulding, Derik Williamson, Franklin Ricks and Tommy Frazer. Honorary pallbearers are J.C. Williamson, Dewel Williamson and the members of the Montrose Fire Department. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association, c/o Mr. Keith Ladd, 186 Ashley 121 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home
