Gary Pardon, 63, of Bastrop, Louisiana, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Pardon was a native of Globe, Arizona; a resident of Bastrop, Louisiana for the past 12 years and a former resident of Wilmot, Arkansas and Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Portland High School in 1971. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict and with the National Guard as a Medical Specialist with a Medical Company. He worked for Turner Industries and Thomas Industrial Company for many years. He loved playing with his grandchildren, cooking and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by a son, Lee Petty and his parents, Robert D. & Betty Ann Haeslip Pardon
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kemp Pardon; two daughters, Karen Petty of Bastrop, Louisiana and Melissa Lingefelt and husband, Shane, all of Bastrop, Louisiana; a sister, Gloria McCrory and husband, Earl, of Hamburg, Arkansas; 8 grandchildren, Heather, Shayna and husband, Calvin, Gavin, Kara, Trena, Kayla, Joshua and Kayda, 2 great-grandchildren, Ava & Amzlee a nephew, Robert Earl McCrory of Crossett and a niece, Melissa Evans of Dermott.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Howie officiating. Burial will be in the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Welch, Dillon Repp, Rodney Laughlin, Red Halterman, Charles Edwards and Roger Wall. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Lingefelt and Robert Earl McCrory. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
