Ethel Streeter Pruitt

January 23, 1927 ~ May 2, 2016 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Ethel Streeter Pruitt, 89, of Fountain Hill, reached her eternal home on Monday, May 2, 2016 surrounded by her family at her residence. Mrs. Pruitt was a native of the Snyder community east of Hamburg and a resident of Fountain Hill for over 50 years.  She was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Hamburg where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.  She loved God and taught her family to love and follow God.  She was a taxidermist for over 20 years and she loved to fish.  She also loved her ladies trips to Branson, Missouri with her family.  She always enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.  She was full of life and will be greatly missed by her family but she is rejoicing with her savior.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Pruitt in 1994; a son, Eugene Pruitt; her parents, Bill and Virgie Bates Streeter; five brothers, Buddy, V.L., Author, Floyd and Lee Streeter and two sisters, Sue Burch and Emma Nelms.

She is survived by a son, Harold Pruitt and wife, Delores, of Crossett; two daughters, Alice Webb and her fiance, Donnie Swan, and Annie Fitch and husband, Wilbert, all of Fountain Hill; a sister, Johnnie Morrow of McRae, Arkansas; two brothers, Ed Streeter of Crossett and Wesley Streeter of Sterlington, Louisiana; 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her special companion, her puppy, Twinkles. She was blessed by God to have six generations in her family.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Russell, Rev. Larry Hickman and Rev. Stan Keely officiating.  Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery.  Pallbearers are her grandsons, Rodney Pruitt, Randy Pruitt, Ricky Pruitt, Travis Sowyers, Brandon Fitch and Lee Whitaker.  Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons and her great-great-grandson.  Memorials may be made to the Hospice Home Care, 990 HWY 425 N. Monticello, AR 71655. The family would like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and all of the kind deeds.  Special thanks to Dr. Sylvia Simon, her doctor and friend, to Hospice Home Care Angels, Sherry, Miranda and Tamara, May God Bless each of you.  

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home.
