Elizabeth Marie “Liz” Hoops, 85, of Snyder, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Hoops was a native of Little Rock; a resident of Snyder for the past 19 years and a former resident of Mayflower for many years. She was a Beautician and a member of the Indian Hill United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Herbert S. Hoops in July of 2014 and her parents, George W. & Marie Wilkerson Smalling.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Hoops and wife, Janice, of Snyder and George Hoops and wife, Sharon, of North Little Rock; two grandsons, Clayton “Gator” Hoops and wife, Stephanie, of Hamburg and Heath Hoops and wife, Natasha, of North Little Rock; six great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Dalton, Garrett, Hudson, Hayden and Jackson.
Graveside services and burial are 11 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Edgewood Memorial Park Cemetery in North Little Rock with Bro. James Thompson officiating. Pallbearers are Joey Kilcrease, Jimmy Cordell, Casey Riley, Richard Gwin, Jimmy Gulledge, and Brian Skender. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Langston, Richard Jones, Larry Bishop, Ricky Lynn, Marvin Vestal, Woody Burge, Elmo Burge, Trey Tubbs and Mickey Gwin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Alzheimer’s Association, 210 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205. The family would like to thank Faye Carruth, Stella Williams, Marilyn Harrison, Tonia Young, Ronia Young, Hospice of Monticello, Home Health of Chicot County, Jacque Bynum and Sally Sager for their love and care.
