William F. "Bill" Sutton Obituary

William F. “Bill” Sutton, 93, of Bastrop, Louisiana, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at his home. Mr. Sutton was a native and lifelong resident of Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, a 1948 graduate of Bastrop High School and a member of the Meridian Baptist Church. He worked as a Logging Contractor for Georgia-Pacific Corporation until his retirement. Mr. Sutton was an avid outdoorsman, and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, and quail. While he took great pride in mowing and maintaining his property, he always loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary Frances Jordan Sutton in 2011; his parents, James and Nannie Martin Sutton; two sisters, Floye Ione Wilder and Juanita Lloyd and a brother, Felix Sutton.

He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Parker and husband, Rick, of Crossett, and Debbie Hester and husband, Mitch, of Bastrop, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Luke Hester of Bastrop, Louisiana, Will Hardy and wife, Maggie, of Shreveport, Louisiana and Kalyn Delaloire and husband, Jason, of St. Martinville, Louisiana; four great-grandchildren, Sutton Hardy, Sam Hardy, Jordyn Delaloire and Abigail Delaloire; a special nephew, Andy Lloyd and wife, Jeanie, and three nieces, Connie Jackson and husband, Allen, Mary Harrington and Marie Johnson and husband, Lelan, all of Crossett.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Meridian Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Hughes officiating. A private burial will be in the Stevenson Cemetery in Beekman, Louisiana. Pallbearers are Mitch Hester, Luke Hester, Rick Parker, Andy Lloyd, Will Hardy, and Jason Delaloire. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Scroggins, Allen Jackson, and Lelan Johnson. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 83, Crossett, AR 71635.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Saturday, at the church.
