William "Bill" Sellers, 82, of Lake Village, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his residence. Mr. Sellers was born October 16, 1942 in Lake Village, a lifelong resident of Lake Village and a 1961 graduate of Lakeside High School. He worked as a Machinist for US Axminster Carpets in Greenville, Mississippi for 44 years until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Sellers was a member of Montrose Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed deer hunting and camping until his health declined but he always enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Sellers; a great-grandson, Greyson Clark; his parents, Frederick Robert and Willie Grace Burgess Sellers; a brother, Rayburn Sellers and a sister, Ethel Fisackerly.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alma Mathews Sellers; his daughter, Becky Clark and husband, David, all of Lake Village; his son, Billy Sellers and wife, Teresa, of Dermott; seven grandchildren, Dave Clark, Rex Sellers, Chip Clark, Marty Clark, Jarrod Clark, Cameron Clowers and Cameron Clark; 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Montrose Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wesley Johnson, Jackie C. Johnson, Henry Matthews, Johnny Matthews, Gary Matthews and Danny Clark. Honorary pallbearers are David Burns and Bruce Johnson. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
