Virginia L. Robertson, 88, of El Dorado, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at the Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Little Rock. Mrs. Robertson has been a resident of El Dorado for the past 65 years and was a former resident of Parkdale for many years. She retired from El Dorado Paper Bag after 35 years of dedicated service and everyone she ever worked with lovingly called her “Granny”. She enjoyed doing anything outside and when she put on her big straw hat, she was gardening, working in the yard, tending to her flowers or going fishing. She loved her family and above all things, she looked forward to the time she was able to spend with her children, and keeping grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Robertson in 2012; a granddaughter, Angie Lee Shields in 2015; a great-granddaughter, Anna Marie Shields in December of 2020; her parents, Lawrence and Olvie Wilson Davis; three sisters, Ruby Wilkerson, Lucille Greene and Margie Prescott; two brothers, Raymond Davis and Thurman Davis and a son-in-law, Babe Kirby in 2003.
She is survived by a son, Malcolm Robertson and wife, Laura; a daughter, Deborah Kirby all of El Dorado; a brother, Marvin Davis; a sister, Vivian Ware both of Hamburg; three grandchildren, John-Martin Burkland of Malvern, Dillon Burkland of El Dorado and April Wendt and husband, Otto, of Palmer, Alaska; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Clark, Corey Clark, Ashleigh Wendt and Justin Shields and wife, Kyrstin; six great-great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Vivanne, Wyatt, Brandon, Casey and Lily and a grandson-in-law, Mitch Breck Shields.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Bro. Joel Meredith officiating. Memorials may be made to the Union County Animal Protection Society (UCAPS) PO Box 204, El Dorado, AR 71730.
