Vanice Annette Jeffers, 74, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Nightingale at Stonegate Nursing Facility in Crossett. Mrs. Jeffers was born November 19, 1950 in Hamburg, was a lifelong resident of the Extra Community, South of Hamburg, and a 1969 graduate of Hamburg High School. She worked as a Seamstress at the Hamburg Shirt Factory until it closed. Mrs. Jeffers was a faithful member of the Extra United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer and she proudly served as a Board Member for the Extra Cemetery. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, Mexican Train Dominoes, going out to eat with her sister group and joining her sister, Kay, to visit with family and friends. Mrs. Jeffers was affectionately known as Mom, Nana, Mamaw and Sissy.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gary Woodrow Jeffers in 2022; her parents, Virgil Franklin and Mary Katherine Panquin Dew.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Fratesi of Hamburg; two sons, Kenneth Jeffers and wife, Christina, of Shipman, Illinois and Steven Jeffers (Sarah Rossini) of Lake Village; a sister, Kay Wood and husband, Louis, of Crossett; two brothers, Virgil Dennis Dew and wife, Susan, of Kirksville, Missouri and Frank Dew of Hamburg; nine grandchildren, Dakota Fletcher, Meghan Fletcher, Jason Fratesi, Destiny Fratesi, Amelia Peoples, Diomanic Peoples, Addison Jeffers, Grant Jeffers and Calleigh Jeffers; three great-grandchildren; her maternal aunt, Nell Farrar of Monroe, Louisiana; four nieces, Jamie Pitzer, Courtney Dew, Michelle Pearce and Lora Beth Dew; three nephews, Marc Dew, Chris Dew and Michael Dew; four great-nieces, Emmy Pitzer, Lilly Dew, Kennedy Pearce and Matilda Dew; four great-nephews, Tyler Dew, Logan Dew, Parker Dew and Liam Dew; her special cousins known as "Sisters", Faye Hunter and Sarah Cruce and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2025, in the Extra Cemetery with Bro. Jim Faulk officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Louis Wood, Marc Dew, Ragan Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Fred Hogan, and J.W. Martin.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
