Suzy Murphy, 57, of Hamburg, died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Murphy was a native of Simsboro, Louisiana and a resident of Hamburg for the past 34 years. She graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana, was a homemaker, and she worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed participating in online auctions and keeping up with her friends on FaceBook.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gerrald Lee, Sr.; an infant grandson, William Buck Murphy and her grandparents, Joseph & Jesse Hinton and Carl and Bertha Lee.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stanley H. “Butch” Murphy; her son, Skylor Holt Murphy and fiancée, Amanda Mock, both of Hamburg; a step-son, Seth Murphy of West Virginia; her daughter, Krystin Murphy of Hamburg; a step-daughter, Terra Matthews and husband, Rusty, of Farmerville, Louisiana; her mother, Elizabeth Hinton Lee; her brother, William Gerrald Lee, Jr. both of Bossier City, Louisiana; her father and mother-in-law, Harold “Sugar” and Shirley Murphy of West Monroe, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Ashlyn Grace Murphy, Bailey Anne Ellingsburg, Sabrina Matthews, Riley Matthews, Adam Coats, Eli Murphy, Emily Murphy, James Murphy, Aaron Murphy and Zackery Murphy and her nephew, Trey Lee.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2021, at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen and Bro. Richard Addington officiating. Burial will be in the Dailey Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Johnson, John Parker, Scott Freeman, Nathan Tanksley, Jr., Buddy Murphy, and Johnny Pierce.
Visitation will be 1 – 2 p.m., Monday at the church.
The State of Arkansas guidelines for indoor funeral services will be strictly followed. Everyone in attendance will be required to wear a face mask and seating will be limited.
