Steve Rand, 72, of Warren, died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Bradley County Medical Center in Warren. Mr. Rand was born October 9, 1952 in DeWitt and a resident of Warren for many years. He proudly served in the Arkansas National Guard for seven years and as a Reserve Medic that was attached to the 7th Airborne Division out of Fort Benning, Georgia. He was the Manager of the South East Warren Water System for many years, a South East Warren Water System Board Member and a Jaycee. Mr. Rand enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, Gold Wing Motorcycles, building and flying remote airplanes and mud riding. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and his special dog and snuggle buddy, Thibodeous "Thibby".
He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Albert "Bud" Rand and Liz Venable Williams Rand; his mother and "bonus dad", Lavern Nutter Sasman and William Sasman and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Bessie Pierce.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 52 years, Sherry Pierce Rand of Warren; two daughters, Christy Rand Wilson and her husband, Tony, of Hamburg and Lisa Rand Bolton and her husband, Don, of Hernando, Mississippi; a half-sister, Dana Morman and a step-sister Virginia Duke both of Albany, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Spurlock and Gina Keller; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Pierce and his fiance, Samantha, and William Pierce and his wife, Vicki, all of Crossett; two grandsons, Steven R. Sadler and his wife, Kaitlyn, of Hamburg and Seth Rand Sadler and his fiance, Saige Jewet, of Bryant; two great-granddaughters, Marcy Sadler and Asher Sadler; his brothers of the heart and lifelong friends, John McLeod and Martha "Mot" McLeod, Charlie Maxwell and Emma Maxwell; members of the McLeod and Spivey Deer Camps; special friends and dinner friends, Darlene and Donald Savage; his Warren Water Friends and Potlatch Friends, Sandra and Jody Rawls and Sandra and Mike Lathan.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2025 in the Adams-Singer Cemetery, in Warren, with Bro. Bodie Spicer officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Sadler, Seth Sadler, Jarrod Maxwell, Chase Cox, Johnny William Pierce, Stephen Griever, Eddie Corder, John McLeod, Charlie Maxwell, Ryan Slaughter, Dale Wheeler, Herman Morman, Terry Don Richard, Glenn Gates and all the workers at the Warren Water Department and Potlatch Corporation. Memorials may be made to the Adams-Singer Cemetery, c/o Melvin Mills, 1268 US 63 S., Warren, AR 71671 or to the North Main Baptist Church, 1011 N. Main Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m.,Sunday at the funeral home.
