Shirley Forrest Jeffers, 78, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. Mrs. Jeffers was born March 5, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana, was a lifelong resident of Hamburg and a 1965 graduate of Hamburg High School, where she met the love of her life, Donald Jeffers. She will be remembered by many for her years spent working as the Secretary at the Hamburg United Methodist Church and later as the Revenue Agent at the Hamburg Revenue Office until she retired in 2013. Mrs. Jeffers was a devoted member of the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, where she served in various offices for many years.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Donald Jeffers in 2007; her parents, Brister Claude and Helen Tucker Forrest; four brothers, Clovice Forrest, Bobby Forrest, Johnny Forrest, and Joe Forrest.
She is survived by her daughter, DeAnna Williams and her husband, Bobby, of Sherwood; her son, Britt Jeffers of Dover; a sister, Becky Thompson of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Roman McCone, Abby Waymire and her husband, Kane, and Tristan Jeffers and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Martin, Tyler Graham, Clayton Collins, Donnie Miller, Joey Miller and Donnie McCaughan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church, 3331 HWY 425 South, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
