Shirley Ann Sawyer, 74, of Hamburg, died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Nightingale at Crossett Nursing Facility. Mrs. Sawyer was born May 8, 1950 in El Dorado, a resident of Hamburg for the past 48 years and a resident of Strong for many years. She was a 1968 graduate of Strong High School and attended South Arkansas University in Magnolia. Mrs. Sawyer worked as a Library Clerk for the Ashley County Library for 28 years. She loved flowers, was a past President of the Hamburg Garden Club and served as a former Secretary for the State Graden Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Sawyer enjoyed bird watching, reading and loved to follow her children and grandchildren to all of their sporting events.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George M. and Velma Ringo Burns.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas G. Sawyer of Hamburg; two sons, Dralon Sawyer of Crossett and Michael Sawyer and wife, Stacy, of Bend, Oregon; three sisters, Barbara Sturdivant and husband, Randall, of El Dorado, Wanda Burns and Lisa Amerson and husband, Mark, all of Camden; five grandchildren, Harley, Bryce, Hayden, Raven and Bellamy and three great-grandchildren, Ember, Korbin and Zoey.
