Shirlene Hill Schenk, 68, of Snyder, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Schenk was born September 26, 1957 in Dermott, was a resident of Snyder since 2015 and a former resident of Lake Village. After graduating from Lakeside High School in 1975, she attended the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning her Doctorate in 1991. She opened Chicot Family Practice in Lake Village and faithfully served her patients there for many years. She was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She always had her Bible with her and devoted her life to spreading the word of Jesus Christ everywhere she went. She was a devoted Christian and wife, a loving mother and proud grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and gave her a reason to live each day to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Hill; her beloved son, Jeremy Norman Hill; her parents, William and Earlene Brooks and a brother, William Brooks, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Schenk of Snyder; three daughters, Melony Hill of Snyder, Shirlena Brooke Cessor of Crossett and Nicole Schenk Tucker and her husband, Quinterrance, of Hamburg; her sister, Kathalene Williams of Lake Village; three brothers, Jerry Brooks of Snyder, James Brooks of Crossett and John Brooks of Lake Village, nine grandchildren, Madison, Drew, Eyan, Kimberly, Ashton, Haylei, Zoey, Jay and Cole and a great-grandson, Eli.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Greenwood officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Drew Gafford, Eyan Hill, James Cessor, Jiliberto Garcia and Quin Tucker.
