Shelby Scott, 69, of Fountain Hill, died Monday, April 27, 2020. Shelby was a native and lifelong resident of the Shiloh Community outside of Fountain Hill, a 1969 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and a former member of the Arkansas National Guard. He worked as a Converting Mechanic for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Tissue Mill for over 43 years, having retired in 2013. Shelby enjoyed working for the C&W and G&W Rodeo Company from the 1970’s until 1997. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Shelby enjoyed running deer dogs, and he loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Floyd & Virginia Riley Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alisa Martin Scott; a daughter, Brenda Scott McCone and husband, Justin, two sisters, Mary Ann Scott and Norma Hales and husband, Bobby, all of Fountain Hill and two grandchildren, Caleb McCone and Mylah McCone.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Bro. Elvin McDill officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Richard, Rob Gifford, Carl Brown, Rodger Chavis, Chuck White, Mike Harville, Adam Poe, Mike Cain, James Outlaw, Dwight Duncan, and George Vestal. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church, c/o Rob Gifford, 716 Ashley Road 81 E., Hamburg, AR 71646. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of the Arkansas Heart Hospital for the care and support shown to Shelby over the last few years.
Visitation will be 1:45 – 2 p.m., Thursday at the cemetery.
