Sarah Lee Courson, 74, of Crossett, died Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Cornerstone Specialty Hospital of Little Rock. Mrs. Courson was born December 6, 1950, in El Dorado and was a resident of Crossett for most of her life. She was a Christian and enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. Courson was an avid deer hunter and would, at times, be known to out hunt most men. She was a wonderful homemaker and her number one priority was taking care of her family and making sure everyone was fed. Mrs. Courson was always thinking of others until her last day.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LaRon and Juanita Watkins Smith and a brother, Jimmy Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Homer Courson; her daughter, Angela Murphy, both of Crossett; a step-son, Chad Courson and wife, Sara, of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters, Allene Carter and Ann McKenzie and husband, Gus, all of Crossett; two grandchildren, Allison Murphy and Dylan Murphy and wife, Melissa; two step-grandsons, Caleb Thomas and Nathan Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Greyson Murphy, Aiden Murphy and Addison Hatcher and three nieces, Carol Rickman and husband, Dennis, TeeJay McKenzie and Debbi Jones.
Memorial services are 2 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating.
