Sally Ann Bolin Murphy, 92, of Hamburg, died Monday, March 21, 2022, at her daughter’s home. Mrs. Murphy was a native of Hamburg, a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for most of her life, and a 1947 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. She was a homemaker, dental assistant and had helped her husband with various business ventures. Mrs. Murphy attended Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ben F. Murphy in 2013; her parents, James Mose and Sallie Franks Bolin; three sisters, Hattie Cooper, Mary Fletcher, and Ouida Johnson and three brothers, Haskell Bolin, M.Z. Bolin and Bill Bolin.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Ann Martin and husband, Robert “Bob”; two grandsons, Jarred Martin and Chance Martin, all of Hamburg; four nephews, Dickie Fletcher, Steve Bolin, Leslie Bolin and Jackie Cooper; five nieces, Betty Balla, JuliAnn Sommers, Jan Kennedy, Shirley Bolin and Sheila Bolin and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Danny Wade Rice, James Robert Meeks, Dickie Fletcher, Jackie Cooper, Michael Kennedy and Andy Riels. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205-1569.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the church.
