Ruth Carpenter Norton Obituary

Ruth Carpenter Norton, 77, of Hamburg, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at her residence.  Mrs. Norton was a native of Greeley, Colorado, a resident of Hamburg for the past 50 years, and a former resident of Houston, Texas.  She worked for the Ashley County Health Unit Home Health for a number of years, the Hamburg Shirt Factory and Rapid Die Molding for 27 years.  Mrs. Norton was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by a husband, L.T. Clark in 2002; two great-grandsons, Michael Carpenter and Seth Carpenter and her parents, Byron & Gertrude Caulkins Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Norton of Hamburg; two sons, Bucky Carpenter and wife, Denna, of Greenbrier and Robert Carpenter and wife, Melissa, of Midlothian, Texas; a brother, Frank Campbell; two sisters, Peggy Lind and Kay Eichheim all of Colorado; eight grandchildren Jessi, Hollie, Daniel, Hallie, Logan, Dakota, Kylie and Cheyenne; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 2 p.m, Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in the Eden Cemetery with Rev. David Newberry officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Lawson, Charles “Bull” Wells, Ronnie Lauhon, Jackie Lauhon, Mike Riley and John Sanderlin. Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, PO Box 446, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2 p.m. Tuesday at the cemetery
