Ruby Janet Shelton Johnson

Ruby Janet Shelton Johnson, 86, of Montrose, died Friday, June 19, 2020, at her home.  Mrs. Johnson was a native of Watson, Arkansas and a resident of Montrose for 70 years. She was a homemaker, a farmer’s wife and worked for the shirt factory in Lake Village. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Montrose Baptist Church. She loved to quilt and was an avid gardener.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kimbro Johnson in 2011; her parents, Ross and Willie B. Lynn Shelton; a sister, Sherlene Jacobs; a brother, W.E. Holliday and a daughter-in-law, Betty Johnson.

She is survived by two sons, Jackie Johnson and wife, Peggy, of Hamburg and Bruce Johnson and wife, Pamela, of Montrose; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Rushin, Janice Burns, Jackie Carroll Johnson, Kim Hornbuckle, Laura Stell, Lisa Boyd and Lacey Boyd, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 10 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020, in the Montrose Cemetery with Bro. Todd Ferguson and Bro. Larry Donaldson officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are Bernard Burns, Ben Stell, Bryan Hornbuckle, Wesley Johnson, Darren Johnson, Brian Rushin and Antonio Vargas. 

Visitation will be 9:45 – 10 a.m., Monday at the Cemetery.
