Royce Edward Harville, 85, of Crossett, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the CHI St. Vincent-Arkansas Hospice Ottenheimer Inpatient Center in Little Rock. Mr. Harville was born August 7, 1939 in Crossett, was a former resident of Hamburg, a 1957 graduate of Hamburg High School and a resident of Crossett for the past 65 years. He was a devoted and faithful member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School Class. Mr. Harville served on the Mt. Olive Baptist Church building committee and was instrumental in the building of the new sanctuary. He worked as a Plant Manager for Georgia-Pacific Extrusion Plant, until he retired in 1997, after over 35 years of dedicated service. Mr. Harville loved to fish, was an avid deer hunter and a member of the Fountain Prairie Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Louise Clark Harville on December 29, 2024; an infant daughter; his parents, Hunter and Maxine McDougald Harville; two brothers, Rev. Wesley Harville and wife, Sherrie, and Kenneth Harville and two brothers-in-law, Huey D. Clark and Phillip M. Doyle.
He is survived by two sons, Brad Harville and wife, Barbi, of Greenbrier and Jeffrey Harville and wife, Monica, of Lumberton, Texas; a brother, Mike Harville and wife, Beverly, of Conway; five grandchildren, Matthew Harville, Carrie Jo Matthews and husband, A.J., Brittney Volk, Zachery Harville and Miranda Harville and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Hibbard and Brad Harville officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rusty McCone, Dennis Maxwell, Bill Rodgers, Jerry Ozment, Michael Smith and James Connor. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons and members of his Sunday School Class at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1553 Highway 52 W., Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m., Saturday at the church.
