Roy Walker Vaden, 93, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Mr. Vaden was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg, a 1945 graduate of Hamburg High School, a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and he worked for Carpenter’s Home Supply for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a wonderful Christian man who enjoyed helping others in any way he could. He loved his family and spent as much time with them as possible. He enjoyed learning about his family history and looked forward to attending family reunions. In his spare time, he liked to hunt, fish, work in his yard and gardening. He was an avid reader and was especially fond of reading and watching westerns.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lavon Lloyd Vaden in 2014; his parents, Roy and Alice Bradney Vaden and a sister, Aline Gardner.
He is survived by his son, Tim Vaden and wife, Julie, of Crossett and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020, in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, in Drew County, with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating.
Visitation will be 9:45 – 10 a.m., Saturday at the cemetery.
