Ronnie Jay Walters, 71, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Walters was born in Ashley County, was a former resident of North Arkansas and Missouri, a resident of Hamburg for the past 12 years and a member of the Martinville Baptist Church. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver until 2000, when he went to the Walmart Distribution Center in Rogers. Before he became disabled in 2010, he was employed at Superior Industries in Fayetteville. Mr. Walters enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Carbone Walters in 2012; his parents, Wesley and Elizabeth Martin Walters and three brothers, Sammie Walters, Lonnie Walters and Billy Walters.
He is survived by a son, Stacey Walters of Hamburg; two brothers, Thomas Walters and wife, Sharon, of Hamburg and Johnny Walters and wife, Rita, of Fountain Hill; three sisters, Elaine Carter of Seligman, Missouri, Kathy Barfield and husband, Jim, and Theresa Pilgrim and husband, Tommy, all of Hamburg; two step-daughters, one step-son and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, PO Box 28, Hamburg, AR 71646.
