Ronnie D. McDougald, 73, of Hamburg, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his residence. Mr. McDougald was a native of Ashley County and a resident of the Shiloh Community for most of his life. He graduated in 1966 from Fountain Hill High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Era. He owned and operated Big R Trucking for over 15 years and after driving a log truck for Nelms Brothers, he retired in December 2020. Mr. McDougald was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and the Fountain Prairie Hunting Club. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed running dogs, deer hunting, fishing and being around kids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle & Lucille Harville McDougald; two brothers, Norwood “Chink” McDougald in 2012 and Roger McDougald in 2013; a sister, Gloria Jean Bowden in 2017 and a nephew, Alan McDougald in 2017.
He is survived by two sons, Austin McDougald of Pine Bluff and Jason McDougald, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
