Ronnie Dillion, 63, of Hamburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Mr. Dillion was born December 22, 1960 in Pine Bluff, was a resident of Hamburg for over 20 years, a former resident of DeWitt for many years and a 1979 graduate of DeWitt High School, where he enjoyed track and field. Mr. Dillion worked at the Ashley County Medical Center for 35 years and was the Director of Radiology for many of those years. He was a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church and the Hamburg Riding Club. Mr. Dillion enjoyed riding horses, ham radio, being a Papaw, Dad, and Husband, but most of all, he loved Jesus. He was known for always wearing his boots and cowboy hat and was often described by those that knew him best as an honest and trustworthy person, a good friend, a wonderful boss, and a man that loved his family. Mr. Dillion was proud of his kids and grandkids, loved having the grandkids at the farm and looked forward to the tradition of taking them to the Crossett PRCA Rodeo each year.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Loyd "Buddy" and Ellen W. Stubbs Dillion and his grandparents, Elmer Lee and Mary Lou Ray Dillion.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Lynn Dillion of Hamburg; two sons, Colby Dillion and wife, Melissa, of Little Rock and Seth Dillion of Richmond, Kentucky; four daughters, Kaycee Ledbetter and husband, Ben, of Calera, Alabama, Emma Self and husband, Tyler, of Farmington, Melissa Burton of Springdale and Lindsey Switzer (Jared Gwin) of Hamburg; a sister, Theresa Lock and husband, Jack, of DeWitt; two brothers, Robert Dillion and wife, Cathy, of Springdale and Greg Dillion and wife, Ruby, of DeWitt; his uncle, Sidney Dillion and wife, Brenda, of DeWitt; five grandchildren, Tucker Ledbetter, Braiden Ledbetter, Ada Dillion, Halle Gwin and Camden Gwin and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Graveside services are 2 p.m., Monday, at the Forks LaGrue Cemetery in DeWitt. Pallbearers are Bill Gifford, Jimmy Stell, Paul Zander, Bobby Wright, Bobby Shockley and Jeff Foster. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Luis Garcia. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, 765 Ashley Road 70, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
