Robert Earl McCrory, 54, of Crossett, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Ashley County Medical Center, following a 2 1/2 year long battle with cancer. Mr. McCrory was born January 10, 1970 in Dermott, a resident of Crossett and a former resident of Wilmot for many years. He was a 1988 graduate of Hamburg High School and received his degree in Automotive Technology from the Great Rivers Vo-Tech in McGehee. Mr. McCrory worked for 16 years as a Boilermaker Supervisor having worked for various companies and recently was a log truck driver for M&M Trucking of Hamburg. He trusted in his Lord Jesus Christ, was raised in the Wilmot Baptist Church and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. He obtained his pilot license and enjoyed flying, scuba diving, and motorcycle riding that led to his dream of owning a Harley Davidson. His Papaw Bob instilled a love of deer hunting, followed by an obsession of duck hunting ending with his love of deer hunting with his lifelong friend, James R. Sims at Sims Ranch.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Betty Haeslip Pardon, Estelle McCrory Selby, and Monroe McCrory; his mother-in-law, Diane Reeves in July 2024; his uncle, Gary Pardon and his two loyal hunting companions, Turbo and Z-Man.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Stacey Reeves McCrory of Crossett; his son, Matthew McCrory (Danielle) of Smackover; his parents, Earl & Gloria Pardon McCrory of Hamburg; his sister, Melissa Evans (Lemuel) of Dermott; his father-in-law, Wilbur Reeves of Eudora; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shanna and Clinton Weatherly of Hamburg; his brother-in-love, James R. Sims (Dianna) of England; a nephew, Cody Weatherly (Whitney) of Monticello; two nieces, Shelby Miller (Matthew) of Monticello and Bella Halley of Peoria, Illinois; his aunts and uncle, Marie and Kenneth Griffin of Hamburg and Mary Pardon of Bastrop, Louisiana; his great-aunt, Mary Pardon Baxter (Billy) of Hot Springs; his cousins, Regina Weeks of Crossett, Shane and Becky Griffin of Fountain Hill and his feline children, LuLu and Hobo Joe.
