Robert Anthony "Andy" Powell

Robert Anthony "Andy" Powell, 67, of Memphis, Tennessee, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his residence. Andy was born May 4, 1958 and was a lifelong resident of Memphis, Tennessee. When Andy was six years old, he became ill with a virus that caused extensive brain damage, resulting in lifelong challenges. Despite this, Andy lived his life with a pure and loving heart. He was kind to everyone he met, generous beyond measure, and brought joy to those around him. His gentle spirit and warm smile touched countless lives, and he was truly loved by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Simpson Gale Powell and Marilou Hayes and an uncle, Buford "Bud" Hayes.

He is survived by his sister, Laura Anne Bedin of Memphis, Tennessee; a nephew, Brian Bedin of Vicenza, Italy and two aunts, Martha Jane Hayes Locke and Diane Hayes. The family wishes to thank the Methodist Hospice Team and his caretakers, Brandy and Larry Gordon, for their exceptional love and care shown, especially during his last days.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. Jared Conatser officiating.
