Ricki Jean Rich, 77, of Parkdale, died Friday, April 3, 2026, as the result of an automobile accident. Mrs. Rich was born February 15, 1949 in Jonesville, Louisiana and was a resident of Ashley County since 1972. She graduated in 1984 from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a Associates Degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 38 years before retiring in 2016. Mrs. Rich loved being a nurse and took great pride in caring for others and her patients always enjoyed spending time with her. She was a member of Wilmot Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and growing plants.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wayne Rich in 2000; her parents, Richard and Nell Kellem Brewer; a sister, Polly Taylor and a nephew, Gabriel Morris.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Rich and his wife, Melissa "Missy", of Parkdale and Jason Rich and his wife, Genevieve, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Dr. Leslie Vestal of Fayetteville; a sister, Linda Morris of Kernersville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Devan Lawson, John Vestal, Tanner Rich and his fiancee, Bailey, and Arlo Rich; a great-grandchildren, Scott and one arriving later this year; two nephews, Shawn Morris, Brian Taylor and a niece, Blair McClure.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the Parkdale Cemetery with Bro. Philip Bowles officiating.
Visitation will be 1:45 - 2 p.m., Wednesday at the cemetery.
