Richard Lee Clark, 72, of Crossett, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Little Rock. Mr. Clark was a native and lifelong resident of Crossett. He worked in the maintenance department at the Georgia-Pacific Tissue Mill for 32 years. A multi-talented man, Mr. Clark was a seasoned farmer who enjoyed raising tomatoes, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball Coach. The heart of his life was the love and joy he had for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and then; “God called” and said it was time to come home.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Ty Smith in 2016; his parents, Orville and Eloise Johnson Clark and a sister, Gayla Sydoriak in 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Black Clark; his son, Chris Clark and wife, Michelle; his daughters, Michelle Clark Andrews and husband, Chesley, all of Crossett and Stefanie Clark Gray and husband, Lance, of Martin, Tennessee; a brother, Ronnie Clark and wife, Bobbi, of Crossett; five grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Hope Gray, Hallie Gray, Caitlyn Clark and Carly Clark and two great-grandchildren, Trevor Smith and Daxe Smith.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Meredith officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Cain, Justin Mason, Mark Beasley, Eric Smith, Stephen Smith and Bryant Moon. Honorary pallbearers are James Coody, David Marshall, Larry Senn, Larry Johnson, Richard Byrd, Dennis Byrd, James Outlaw, Dean Holland, Glen Knight and Danny Smith. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2222 Cottondale Lane, Little Rock, AR 72202.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
