Patricia Riley Chandler

Patricia Riley Chandler, 87, of Wilmot, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at her residence.  Mrs. Chandler was born and raised in Warren on idyllic Scotta Street.  She was a resident of Wilmot for 61 years and a former resident of Louisville, Kentucky.  She graduated from Warren High School in 1952 and from Arkansas A&M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello, in 1956.  When she began her teaching career, she taught for two years at Banks Elementary and then taught at Wilmot Elementary for 17 years.  Until recent years, she was a faithful member of the Wilmot Baptist Church, where she was active with the Women’s Mission Union, taught Sunday school, and served as the church organist and pianist.  Known as “Pat” to most people, she was a people person and loved all the people and places where she had lived. 

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bailey Rowell; her husband of 60 years, Eugene D. Chandler in 2018; her parents, Allen Bryant and Bernice Dew Riley and a sister, Marjorie Myers.

She is survived by her son, Allen Chandler of Wilmot.

Graveside services are 10 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, in the Oakland Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Philip Bowles officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 11300 N. Rodney Parham Road, Suite 205A, Little Rock, AR 72212, or the Warren YMCA, 207 N. Main Street, Warren, AR  71671.  

Visitation will be 9:45 – 10 a.m., Friday at the cemetery.
