Nancy Carolyn Roberts Chappell, 71, of Crossett, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her sister’s residence in Hamburg. Mrs. Chappell was a native and lifelong resident of Crossett, a 1968 graduate of Crossett High School and a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Nursing. She worked as a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 35 years and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Chappell was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and “Aunt Nanny” to all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, John Allen Swan in 2009 and her parents, A.T. and Gracie Carter Roberts.
She is survived by two sisters, Brenda Nason and husband, Sonny, of Hamburg and Shelia Gosdin and husband, Earl, of Crossett; two brothers, Bobby Stanley and wife, Jan, of Lake Village and Billy Stanley of Houma, Louisiana; three grandsons, Houston Tyler Swan of Jonesboro; Hayden Seth Swan of Crossett and John Zackary Swan of Hamburg; a great-grandson, Jaston Allen Swan and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard West officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Vail, Jamie Vail, Jason Bohler, Jacob Vail, Richard Gosdin, and Lee Wiles. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (Breast Cancer), 2222 Cottondale Lane, Ste #310, Little Rock, AR 72202.
Visitation will be 1:30-2 p.m., Saturday, in the funeral home chapel.
