Melba Roberson Wilkerson, 79, of Hamburg, died Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Nightingale at Crossett Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Wilkerson was born July 10, 1946 in Fountain Hill, was a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for over 50 years, a former resident of Fountain Hill and a 1966 graduate of Drew Central High School. She was a member of the Eden Baptist Church, a homemaker and she worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for several years. Mrs. Wilkerson enjoyed cooking, canning, visiting with people and shopping. She cherished the time she spent with her family and especially loved being with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Joseph Parks; her parents, Jessie Roberson and Lucille Pace Roberson Rice; a brother, Reggie Roberson; two sisters, Rachel Podwinski and Kitty Meeks and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommy and Ruby Davis Wilkerson.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul Wilkerson of Hamburg; a son, David Wilkerson and his wife, Denise, of Crossett; two daughters, Donna Hudson and her husband, Doug, of Hamburg and Sharon Wilson and her husband, Donny, of Bella Vista; three brothers, Tommy Roberson of Maumelle, Ron Roberson and his wife, Pat, of Olathe, Kansas and Billy Rice of Crossett; two sisters, Virginia Bailey of Conway and Kay Robinson of Crossett; ten grandchildren, Justen Hudson and his wife, Meredith, Heather Williams and her husband, Johnny, Whitney Parks and her husband, Adam, Alyssa Hudson, Keith Hudson, Krystal Watkins and her husband, Dylan, Steven Wilkerson and his Fiancé, Taylor Bussell, Courtney Payne and her husband, Nathan, Jacob Wilson and Daniel Wilson; 11 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Leah, Reagan, Lincoln, Logan, Jenson, Jorgia, Casper, Alice, Madison and Julia; a brother-in-law, Randall Meeks of Crossett and a host of nieces and nehews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in the Hamburg Cemetery with Bro. J.W. Dobbins officiating. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Justen Hudson, Johnny Williams, Adam Parks, Keith Hudson, Steven Wilkerson, Dylan Watkins, Nathan Payne, Jacob Wilson and Daniel Wilson.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m, Tuesday at the funeral home.
