Mary Ruth Oliver Locke, 82, of Bastrop, Louisiana, died Friday, February 19, 2021. Mrs. Locke was a native and long-time resident of Fountain Hill, a resident of Bastrop, Louisiana for many years, and a 1956 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Mrs. Locke was a cafeteria manager for the Morehouse School District for over 20 years and was a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Vernon L. Locke in 2000; her parents, Curtis & Vonnie Moses Oliver; a brother, George Oliver and a sister, Nancy Stumbaugh.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Keller, Donna Lindeman, both of Bastrop, Louisiana and Denice Musgrove of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; a son, David Locke of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother, John Oliver of Crossett; a sister, Martha White and husband, J.L., of Cabot; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carter Cox and the staff of Cherry Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility for their love and care of Mrs. Mary.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Bro. Bill Elton officiating.
Visitation will be 1:45 – 2 p.m., Tuesday at the cemetery.
