Mary Fostene Bell, 75, died Monday, November 29, 2021 in Muscadine, Alabama at her daughter’s residence. Mrs. Bell was native of Jones, Louisiana and a resident of Parkdale for most of her life. She was a former resident of Hamburg for two years and in September of this year, she moved to Muscadine, Alabama. She learned at an early age how to hoe cotton and was a true “farm girl”. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden and with her flowers. She raised her grandson, Brandon, and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Bell is preceded in death by her husband, Doris Calvin “D.C.” Bell in 1994 and her parents, Foster & Mary Huckabee Bell.
She is survived by four daughters, Rebecca Tanksley and husband, Reed, of Muscadine, Alabama, Catherine Tanksley and husband, Donnie, of Fountain Hill, Patty Bell and companion, Marcus Peralta, of Wilmot and Carol Acosta and companion, Todd Haygood, of Eudora; two sisters, Dorothy Harris of Leesville, Louisiana and Ellen Sisk of Bastrop, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
