Mary Belle Ricks, 91, of Hamburg, died Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Nightingale at Crossett Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Ricks was born October 19, 1934 in Ashley County, a resident of Hamburg for over 60 years and a former resident of Portland and Parkdale. She was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and a loving homemaker. She found joy in sewing, upholstery, and cooking, and cherished every moment spent caring for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, E.W. Ricks; her parents, Marion Franklin and Minnie Coffman Eddy; a daughter-in-law, Doylene Kellum Ricks; seven brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirlene Rogers of Hamburg; two sons, Franklin Ricks of Hamburg and Rodney Ricks of Crossett; a sister, Frances Hennington of Portland; seven grandchildren, Rebekah, Katie, Mathew, Sam, Clay, Roxanne and Dakota, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Robin Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Henry Matthews, Gary Matthews, Johnny Hennington, Ryan Grantham, Gregg Grantham and Keith Ladd. Memorials may be made to the Portland Cemetery, c/o Marcia Vestal, 100 Highway 160, Portland, AR 71663.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
