Marvin Allen Vestal, 75, of Montrose, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Vestal was a native of Danville, Arkansas and a resident of the Trafalgar Community outside of Hamburg for many years. He was a 1964 graduate of Lakeside High School and a 1966 graduate of the Ouachita Valley Technical School in West Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Vestal worked as an Electrician, having retired in 2005 and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 474, in Memphis, Tennessee. He loved his children, was always there for anything they were involved in and was a proud “Mother F.L.E.”. Mr. Vestal was a charter member of the Trafalgar Hunting Club and he enjoyed running dogs and working on vehicles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Jennie Priddy Vestal; two brothers, Claud Vestal and Lyndon Vestal; two sisters, Josephine Smith and Mary Jeanette Vestal.
He is survived by a daughter, Terri Lynn Williams of Malvern; three step-daughters, Myra Baird and boyfriend, Dallas Cauthen, of Stewart, Tennessee, Carmen Valdez and husband, Jose, of Whittier, California and Christy Turner and husband, Mike, of Springfield, Missouri; five step-sons, Jim Sanchez and wife, Amy, of West Frankfort, Illinois, Andrew Sanchez of Farmington, Missouri, Brad Ward, James Ward and Dalton Ward all of Arkansas; two brothers, George Vestal of Fountain Hill and Tony Vestal and wife, Marcia, of Portland; two sisters, Linda Vestal of Belleview and Julia “Judy” Sadler and husband, Richard, of Portland; a special friend, Ricky Lynn of Montrose; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Zach Jackson officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Trafalgar Hunting Club and the members of the Local 474. Visitation will be 9:30 – 10 a.m., Thursday, in the funeral home chapel.
