Marilou Hayes, 89, of Memphis, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the AHC Harbor View Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hayes was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee for over 65 years and a former resident of Hamburg. She was a 1953 graduate of Hamburg High School. She was a member of the North View Baptist Church in Memphis, where she served as the Church Secretary for 20 years. Mrs. Hayes enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She is prececed in death by her parents, George and Vivian Smith Hayes; her brother, Buford “Bud” Hayes and her beloved aunt and uncle, Joyce Smith and Willard Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Ann Bedin; her son, Robert Anthony Powell, both of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Martha Jane Hayes Locke of Quitman; a sister-in-law, Diane Hayes; a grandson, Brian Bedin of Vicenza, Italy and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. Jared Conatser officiating.
Visitation will be 1:45 - 2 p.m., Sunday at the cemetery.
