Margaret Hill Smith

Margaret Hill Smith, 106, of Hamburg, died Friday, June 26, 2020, in Crossett. Mrs. Smith was a native of the Beech Creek Community outside of Hamburg and a resident of Hamburg for most of her life.  She was a homemaker, a cashier at Safeway Grocery in Crossett for over 20 years and the caregiver to her mother, who lived to be 104 years old.  Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smith in 1981; her parents, Willie and Myrtle Smith Hill; a brother, Leslie Hill and a nephew, Gale Hill.

She is survived by two nieces, Gursta McDonald and husband, Billy, and Debra Wood all of Hamburg; five great-nieces, Tami Hill Byers, Dana Hill Callaway and Leslie Hill Outlaw all of Hamburg, Tonya Adair of Shreveport, Louisiana and Kay White of West Monroe, Louisiana; two great-nephews, Jason Wood and Billy Keith McDonald both of Hamburg and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 10 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2020, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. Ty Danielson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg Cemetery Association, PO Box 15, Hamburg, AR  71646. 

Visitation will be 9:45-10 a.m. Monday at the cemetery.
