Luther Junior Jordan, 93, of Hamburg, died Friday, December 27, 2019. Mr. Jordan was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg. He retired from Georgia-Pacific Corporation Plywood Mill and was a member of the Gardner Baptist Church. Mr. Jordan loved wagon riding, was a member of many riding clubs around the south Arkansas area, and was the co-founder of the Southeast Ark-Wagoneers. He enjoyed horseback riding, building wagons, shoeing horses, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lela Elizabeth Pruitt Jordan in 1996; his parents, Luther and Johnnie Sweeney Jordan; two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Bennie Jordan and wife, Barbara; four daughters, Peggy Jordan, Carolyn Aiken, Fredia Wright and husband, Bobby, and Nancy McDill and husband, Elvin, all of Hamburg; a brother, Doyle Jordan of Crossett; 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Lori.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Philip Bowles officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chuck Kinnard, Alan Swan, Phillip Jones, Frankie White, Bruce Towe, Lane Wesson and Roy Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Barnett, Clifford Bowden, Robbie Cunningham, and the members of the Southeast Ark-Wagoneers. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
