LeFreda Johnson, 92, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Johnson was born September 19, 1932 in Hamburg and was a former resident of Orange, Texas and Banks before moving back to Hamburg over 25 years ago. She retired after 25 years as a machine operator for the Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outside tending her yard, gardening, growing flowers and crocheting. Mrs. Johnson loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley Oliver Miller in 1983, Walter Frank Wyman in 1996 and Ernest Donald Johnson in 2011; a daughter, JoAnn Christy in 2019; two sons, David Miller in 1975 and Kevin Miller in 2012; four grandsons, Tony L. Maxwell, Sr., James Miller, Jr., Stephen Oscar Miller and Adam Gregg; a son-in-law, Mike Herrington; her parents, Oscar and Eunice Curry Norrell; four sisters, Doris Jenkins, Frances Corker, Geneva King and Virginia Hearn and two brothers, Oscar Norrell, Jr. and William E. Norrell.
She is survived by her son, James Miller, Sr. and wife, Patricia; a daughter, Martha Herrington, all of Crossett; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chad Gregg, Michael Miller, Kevin Miller, Carlton Maxwell, Jr., Eddie Black and Jimmy Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Norrell and Michael White. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 803 Ashley Road 95, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
