Lane Austin Rice, the four-month-old son of Chad Austin Rice and Kelsey Nicole Gregorcyk, of Crossett, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Lane was a happy baby and always had a grin on his face. He loved to have someone sing to him and dance with him. Lane enjoyed watching cartoons with his brother.
He is preceded in death by an uncle, Kamron Hudson in June of this year; his paternal great-grandfathers, Johnny Spurlock and Billy Rice.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Tucker Hayes Collum of Crossett; his paternal grandparents, Hank and Toni Rice (G-Daddy & Maw Maw) of Crossett; his maternal grandparents, Benjy and Cynthia Brooks (PopPop & Mimi) of Hamburg; his paternal great-grandmothers, Dorothy Spurlock and Hazel Jones and husband, Fawn, all of Crossett; his maternal great-grandparents, Lamar and Janis Higginbotham of Hamburg; his aunt, Jessi Rice of Crossett; three uncles, Cody Rice and wife, MyKaela, of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kaleb Gregorcyk and Aidan Gregorcyk both of Hamburg and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, December 20, 2021, at the West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Sexton officiating. Burial will be in the Simms Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kolten Hudson, Hank Rice, Cody Rice and Wade Barnett. Honorary pallbearers are DeWayne Hudson, Aidan Gregorcyk, Andrew Jones, Abraham Ceja, Jr., Hayden Swan, Slade Swan, Johnnie Leigh, Lamar Higginbotham, Chuck Kinnaird, Justin Kelley, Tony Nolan, Terry Martin and Daniel Pearson. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Baby Lane Austin Rice, to the George Hank Rice Account at Century Next Bank.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
