June 6, 1941 ~ June 26, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old
LaFran Swan, 82, of Hamburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2023, at her residence after a long battle with Dementia. Mrs. Swan was a native of Crossett and a lifelong resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She went on to teach for the Hamburg School District, where she retired after 23 years of service. Teaching was a profession she loved dearly. Mrs. Swan was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride and joy in the flowers she planted in her yard. Anyone that knew her would comment that she had the prettiest yard in Milo. Being a Mother and a Mimi made her the happiest, and she loved spending as much time as possible with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Pauline Noble Bellott, and a sister, Helen Ann Taylor.
She is survived by a son, Michael Oliver, and wife, Ruth Ann; two daughters, Shirley Martin and husband, John John, and Janet White and husband, Chuck, all of Hamburg; a sister, Sandra Forte and husband, Santo, of Azle, Texas; seven grandchildren, Brittney Kinard, Clayton Moffatt, Christopher Moffatt, Drew Moffatt, Cody Welch, Rayne Welch, Nikolas Wood, and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Egypt Cemetery with Bro. Buddy Boykin officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Clayton Moffatt, Christopher Moffatt, Drew Moffatt, Nikolas Wood, Cody Welch, Ethan Kinard, Blake Griffin, and Mike Carter.
