Kitty Elizabeth "Kat" Meeks, 76, of Crossett, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Meeks was born May 7, 1948 in Fountain Hill, a former resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for 41 years, a resident of Crossett for the past 25 years and a 1967 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Mrs. Meeks was a humble servant of the Lord and a dedicated member of the Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church. She worked for the Hamburg Shirt Factory and Bemis Bag Co. for several years and was an exceptional homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and visiting with friends and family, but her favorite pastime of all was traveling to all of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Mrs. Meeks was a loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by a son, Ashley Shane Meeks; a daughter Staci Meeks; a grandson, Pierce Leo Meeks; her parents, Jessie Roberson and Lucille Pace Roberson Rice; a brother, Reggie Roberson; a sister, Rachel Podwinski and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Helen Meeks.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Randal Meeks of Crossett; three sons, Pete Meeks and wife, Debra, of Hamburg, Shawn Meeks and wife, Missy, of West Monroe, Louisiana and Blake Meeks and wife, Anell, of Hamburg; three brothers, Tommy Roberson of Maumelle, Ron Roberson and wife, Pat, of Kansas City, Kansas and Billy Rice of Crossett; three sisters, Virginia Bailey of Conway, Kay Robinson of Crossett and Melba Wilkerson and husband, Paul, of Hamburg; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Boseman and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zach Meeks, Chase Meeks, Cayden Meeks, Preston Meeks, Landon Meeks, Braxton Meeks, Jenson Meeks, Jager Meeks and Taylor Meeks. Memorials may be made to the Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Carol Burgess, 2290 HWY 189 N., Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the church.
