Kenneth Wayne Tharp

Kenneth Wayne Tharp, 56, of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence.  Mr. Tharp was a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, a resident of Hamburg for several years, and a former resident of Beekman, Louisiana and Crossett.  He took pride in being a mechanic for Steve Bolin Logging and was a member of Cornith Baptist Church. Mr. Tharp enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his grandbabies on the four wheeler.  He loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie M. and Ella Mae Davis Tharp; a sister, Sherry Jones and two brothers, Terry Tharp and LaVelle Tharp.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Stacy Chalk Tharp of Hamburg; two sons, Dustin Tharp and wife, April, of Warren and Dalton Tharp and wife, Haley, of Hamburg; eight brothers, William Rizzuto and Johnny Wayne Rizzuto and wife, Brenda, both of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Bill Tharp and wife, Carolyn, of Bastrop, Louisiana, Billy Dean Tharp and wife, Sarah, of Beekman, Louisiana, Calvin Tharp and wife, Christine, of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, Louis Tharp and wife, Melissa Dawn, of Bastrop, Louisiana, Larry Tharp and wife, Paige, of Collinston, Louisiana and Ricky Tharp of Bastrop, Louisiana; five sisters, Katie Brown and husband, Jody, of Hamburg, Gloria Jurls of Bastrop, Louisiana, Melissa Haney and husband, Douglas, Frances Barton and husband, Keith, and Odos Lee Barton and husband, Doug, all of Hamburg; eight grandchildren, Savannah, Michael, D.J., Ruby, Braddix, Malachi, Jacob and Marie Lyn Tharp.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glen Hutchinson officiating.  Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Tharp, Larry Tharp, Ricky Tharp, Louis Tharp, Keith Barton and Douglas Haney. 

Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
