Kenneth Merrill Allbritton, 90, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Mr. Allbritton was a native of Cascilla, Mississippi and a resident of Hamburg for the past 31 years. A 1949 graduate of Charleston High School, he served four years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he attended Northwest Mississippi Community College and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1959. Mr Allbritton was a Public School Administrator for over 35 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamburg. An avid Razorback football and basketball fan, he also enjoyed fishing and loved to crappie fish at Lake Chicot with his brother, Bennie "B.W." Allbritton and Willie B. Streeter.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Sammie Marie Sanders Allbritton in 1995 and Rachel Holland Allbritton in 2019; his parents, Benjamin Wilfred & Vivian Wolfe Allbritton; two brothers, Albert Lee Allbritton and Bennie "B.W." Allbritton and a sister, Eula Janelle Garrett.
He is survived by a son, Kenny Allbritton and wife, Gail, of Hamburg; two daughters, Alice Johnston and Willie, of Hamburg and Brenda Henry and husband, Jacky, of Charleston, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Kris Allbritton and wife, Lindseykay, Beth Carter, Hollie Burnett, Candace LaFoon and husband, Wesley, and Misti Greenwood and husband, Jason, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ty Danielson officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Kris Allbritton, Keith Burnett, James Cessor, Wesley LaFoon and Willie Johnston. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 1:30-2 p.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel.
