Ken Roberts, 90, of Crossett, died Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Roberts was born January 6, 1935 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, a resident of Crossett for the past 21 years and a former resident of Atascadero, California for 20 years and Torrence, California for over 20 years. He was a 1954 graduate of Santa Monica High School and a veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Meat Cutter for years, operating his own meat market in Brentwood, California as well as having worked for many different large supermarkets and stores. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Meat Cutters Union. He enjoyed gunsmithing, was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast and a collector of many things, especially antique glass.
He is preceded in death by a son, Corporal Dennis J. "Shooter" Roberts in 2007; his parents, Harold and Marie Bavister Roberts; his brother, John Roberts and a daughter-in-law, Jan Roberts in 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kathleen Inglehart Roberts of Crossett; a son, Randy Roberts, of Greenville, Mississippi; a brother, Bob Roberts of Atascadero, California; four grandchildren, Josh Roberts, Kristin Sharp and her husband, Phillip, Lindsey Weatherford and Lisa Roberts and four great-grandchildren, Madison Sharp, Logan Sharp, Mila Weatherford and Tyson Weatherford.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, in the Chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Neil officiating. A private burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Griever, Phillip Sharp, Joe Williams, Mark Trammell, Ovid Switzer and Matt Brooks.
